“Why do we still have apes if we came from them?”

Ugggghhhh…

Why do we still have apes if we came from them?” Wise, a retired educator, said during the interview with the Tampa radio station. “And those are the kind of questions kids need to ask themselves. You know, ‘how did we get here?’ And, you know, there’s more than one theory on this thing. And the theory is evolution, the other one is intelligent design.”

Honestly, I’d just like to see us start teaching evolution in schools. How do I know we aren’t? Because retired educators, along with millions of other Americans, routinely ask the question, “But why are apes still here?!” to disprove evolution, even though there’s long been a scientific answer to this question.

If our science classrooms weren’t already being used as platforms to spread “creation science”/”intelligent design” propaganda, people like Sen. Wise would know how not persuasive this question is in the argument against evolution. It is a great question for a student to ask in their science class, but only if the student in question is actually willing to hear the answer and only if the science teacher is actually interested in giving their student a scientific explanation. I’m willing to put money on it that in many schools in America, neither the student nor the teacher is willing to do either.

I’m curious as to know.. what schools don’t teach evolution? I had to learn it in my school. Everyone I know that actually paid attention in my hick school’s biology class is aware that humans didnt evolve from apes.. they evolved from a common ancestor of the apes.

Huffington Post vs. BBC.
I swear to FSM, what passes for journalism in America makes me sick. No wonder we’re such a stupid, vapid, irresponsible, self-centered country of idiots.

I feel like punching them, not all guys are the same and guys can be trusted. Girls are just as deceiving as guys, if not more. Girls tend to forget that its because of certain girls that guys start playing with girl’s feelings, girls always push the nice guys away and chase the bad boys. Don’t get butt hurt when you find out he’s playing you, I’m sure there’s a nice guy you were playing with as well.

Not all girls deceive either, and some guys deceive without actual fault on the girls part. There’s no ALWAYS. Sometimes things happen, and sometimes they don’t. To say “Girls are just as deceiving as guys” is basically saying we’re all deceptive, we’re not. Not all guys are deceptive, and not all girls are deceptive, some people are deceptive, and some people are not. Girls are not just as deceiving as guys because theres no ultimate proof that guys have a level of deception that can be graphed, some people are just as deceptive as other people, why do we have to make it about gender? It has nothing to do with gender, it has to do with personality.

This actually happened.
These people call themselves “pro-life”.

Having sex, at all, is now a “perversion”? How do they think they got here? How do they think all those embryos they’re so desperate to protect got here? Without sex we wouldn’t have any babies at all, minus IVF/surrogates.
SEX* IS NORMAL. SEX IS A COMPLETELY ACCEPTABLE CHOICE TO MAKE. Sex is good. Sex is fun. Sex is good for you.
*Consensual sex, of course.

In case you’re still trying to figure out whether the pro-life movement is interested in protecting the unborn or in shaming/punishing women who have sex.

ANTI-WOMAN DUDE of the day: Mike Huckabee
Context:

In a radio appearance on Monday, Mike Huckabee attacked actress Natalie Portman for having a child “out of wedlock.” Huckabee said that it’s “troubling” to see people like “Natalie Portman or some other Hollywood starlet who boasts of, ‘Hey look, you know, we’re having children, we’re not married, but we’re having these children, and they’re doing just fine.’” Huckabee added that “it’s unfortunate that we glorify and glamorize the idea of out of children wedlock.”

Because the worst thing you can do is take your child out in public when you’re not married to its father, have the world NOT end, and prove conservatives wrong. Shame! SHAME!
